3G(S) Cycling trough no service and Edge

So while sitting here my 3GS started cycling between no service, searching, and full EDGE. It will hold the EDGE for 10-15sec and then drop back to searching. What in the heck is going on?

I've had every gen of iPhone so no change had to be made to my account when I switched to the 3GS. My roommate has AT&T also and he has signal so that doesn't seem to be the issue.

Any ideas? Guess I'll be paying AT&T a visit in the AM.

Seems like there are a few others having the same issues including me. https://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=7908874#post7908874 Did you have an iPhone 3G previously? Have you tried putting your SIM from your 3Gs into your 3G and seeing if the same problem happens in your iPhone 3G? I'll be visiting AT&T today.

That problem sounds as if they are never getting signal. I had a signal and then the phone started going between no signal and would grab EDGE for a second then loose it.

All is well now. About 10 min after starting the thread everything went back to normal. Good 3G signal as I sit here in the very same spot. Strange!
