3G stuck in bootloop :-( Please help

😱 Phone has been jailbroken some time, running 3.1.2, wanted to delete all personal data off it etc, so used erase all content and settings feature, gave me a message it could take about an hour? its been more than that.
right now just an apple on display with a spinning wheel when it tries to start up.

What are the options, it had Cydia on it and I am pretty sure I clicked the "make my life easy button"

I cannot seem to get it into recovery mode?

You will have to restore your phone. Since you have a 3G, you should be able to just shift-restore to 3.1.2; the 3G does not require signatures for firmware installation. I suggest you then jailbreak with Redsn0w.

Incidentally, you should be aware that Erase All Content and Settings usually results in a boot loop.

Open iTunes, press shift +restore key (PC), select 3.1.2 IPSW

Oh yea, gotta ask... why in the world did you select erase key before figuring out what it would do ??

you should try iREB from the ih8sn0w team if u ever have any spinning wheel of death issues, may be too late now but worth it as a 1st resort in future. It can get ur device out the majority of these problems without the need for a restore a keeps all of your current info, e.g text messages and cydia apps

Thanks for that info Dave.. I actually had to restore it to 3.1.3 but I sold the phone to someone who did not care.
