3GS 3.1.2 blackra1n with 4.0 blobs?

no i didn't do that... ugh i should of read more. i assumed it was the same process as before..
 
guys i have a 3gs thats on 3.1.3 and not jailbroken can i upgrade to 4.0 or 4.01 and jailbreak it ..when i do i get error 1394 through itunes????

Just download tiny and start the TSS server.
 
tss is running but... nothing.. is happening - doesn't even give me the option to kick device out of recovery loop

Did you get the firmware restored? No button in the top right to kick it out of recovery mode?

One the TSS server is running, you have to shift-click (Win) or option-click (Mac) the restore button in iTunes and select the firmware file you wish to restore to.
 
now i get 3002 error... no fw restoring is working for me right now. is my problem itunes 9.2?

The only time I've hear of 3002 was when people tried to upgrade but never on a restore..
 
it says it cannot be restored.. error 3002... ugh - this is not looking good

i am running old bootrom and on windows...
 
i am just going to go to 4.0.2 and then downgrade to 4.0.1

Where did you get you firmware from?
 
now regular 4.0.2 won't even work. i made sure the hosts file was clean at the end...

"update server could not be contacted"
 
OK manually edit you host files. C:WindowsSystem32\drivers\etc and add

74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com

To the bottom.

Okay remove that ip address if you added it in the host file. Put the phone in DFU mode, start the TSS server and then rerestore. After you get the error then click stop server and kick the device.
 
it is because it won't turn on every time i plug it in itunes tells me it's in recovery mode..

but when i run umbrella the option does not show to kick it out

as of now my hosts has 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
at the end
 
as of now i got out of lock mode doing the button trick connecting disconnecting

back to 3.1.2 blackra1n on old boot rom

i am ready to do this correctly now...
 
weird. still getting the 3002 error when running tss server. this time umbrella detects my phone - however it's not recognizing my blobs.. when i click show SHSHs i only see 4.0.2
