3GS 3.1.2 to iOS4 on a Windows machine?

Hi guys. Is there a way to upgrade my jailbroken (blackrain) 3.1.2 to iOS4 on a PC, and keep my jailbreak? I know the PwnageTool 4.01 is only for MAC.

My phone is a 3GS. Old bootrom. 3.1.2

I'm in the exact same boat, except my 3GS was jailbroken with Redsn0w. If anyone could direct us to a custom iOS 4.0 firmware, created with Pwnage Tool 4.01, I'd be extremely appreciative.

These IPSW's are all jailbroken? How exactly do I upgrade my phone? Do I just open up iTunes and tell it to restore from that IPSW? It's that simple?

I got my IPSW from sinful iphone. They have a very good comprehensive list of custom IPSW made with pnwage tools.

Yes, it's that simple. The CUSTOM ipsw files are already jailbroken. That is what the Pwnage Tool does. Just hold shift and click restore. You'll be asked to locate the file you want to restore with. Simply select your custom ipsw and let iTunes do the rest.

Are you in DFU and not recovery mode?

yeah i was getting that same error yesterday, turned out I wasn't in recovery mode.

i was in DFU first, got 1600 error.

Then i tried recovery, got (1) error.

Yeah, thanks guys anyways.
I just can't seem to restore with the ipsw's from sinfuliphone. It always gives me an error. I tried DFU AND recovery modes.

You're not supposed to go into DFU mode.
Either recovery mode or straight mode just Shift-restore on windows or option-restore on macs and select the ipsw.
