Does anyone know what baseband the iPhone 3GS shipped with when it was released alongside the iPhone 4 last summer?

To clarify, when the original 3GS was originally shipping they had the "16gb" and "32gb" emblems on the back of the phone. I'm talking about the newer ones that shipped without any storage mention on the back. These new 3GS's were the 8gb models released specifically when the iPhone 4 came out.

Thanks

Seems like it could be anywhere between 4.0 and 4.2.1. Guess there's no real way to know exactly?

Pretty much, there's no 100% way of knowing without plugging the phone to a computer and either activating it or running Tinyumbrella.
