Couple of follow-up questions. 1. Is this an untethered boot and did you try to upgrade to 5.0 after downgrading to 4.1?

1. 4.1 has untethered jailbreak.
2. Apple is no longer signing OS5. Therefore, you can't go to OS5. You can only go to 5.0.1 now.

May seem simple to you but it's really complex for me (being new to it all).
I have the same situation as you but with a new bootrom and have no idea if I should wait for the untethered JB (that may not come for a while) or go ahead and install the iPad baseband. Would that mess up the forthcoming untethered break?
I'm also concerned that what you describe above would be a small miracle for me to pull off since I don't know the step by step procedures. Any assist would be sooo appreciated. Thanks in advance. Happy Holidays.

Since you are in Europe, you should try to work with your carrier for a factory unlock. That would be the best solution.
Again, baseband has nothing to do with untethered or tethered jailbreak. So, whether you upgrade your phone baseband to 06.15 or not, it has not impact on the jailbreak coming out at all.
cool but preety hard now my case same like um but im stuck before install ultrasnow via cydia, because my WIFI is not working now, thats the problem, any suggest from u?
Use Cyder 2 to load mobilesubstrate & ultrasn0w into your phone. After you've done this, reboot your phone and your phone will be unlocked.
you just brick it,no one could save it,you are not suppose to install ipad baseband on 5.16.05 basebabd,and 5.16.05 is unlockeble

I read that but after downgrade to 4.1 as u stated with using Tinyumbrella not Ireb (fyi) there is no mention on how to upgrade back to 5.0.1 and unlock it , can u please make a video or step by step tut so we all can benfit from ur experience

excuse me guys sorry to bother you im new to this forum stuff and my question is why does my 3gs after installing the ipad baseband still have a fully functional gps and i have no issues with the phone now what so ever but yet i read all this stuff about how your gps and some other things wont work but yet mine still do for some reason, so yeah just wondering if anyone knew why it still works for me and others experience problems ?

There is no necessity to downgrade your iphone. To Jailbreak your phone use redsn0w 0.9.10.b2 and install only cydia. Add some sources (google it) and upgrade your iphone. than search for ultransowCN 1.6b5. install it. reboot your iphone than open UltraSnowCN app. there u will find button unlock. press it and enjoy your unlocked iPhone. GPS, wifi atc works perfect.

If you don't know by now, Apple updated the chip on all iPhone 3GS made after week 28 of year 2011. The new NOR chip which is mass produced by Intel/Numonyx has the model number of either 36MY1EH or 36MY1EF. They are not compatible with iPad baseband 6.15.00. Its exactly the same type of chip used on iPhone 4.
You can check this by looking at your iPhone 3GS serial number. The 3rd, 4th and 5th digital of the serial number represent the week and year the logic board was produced.
3rd digit: Year
4th and 5th digits: Week
For instance, if your serial number is xx129xxxxxx then you can tell immediately that the logic board was produced in year 2011, week 29th not compatible with iPad baseband.
