3Gs sim in iphone 4

I am currently under contract on my 3gs and have just bought an unlocked iphone 4 from the UK. Can I cut up my current sim card to fit in the 4 and will everything just work?

That's what I did.

I just used a pen and a sharp pair of scissors. Works like a charm.
