Why is everyone so impressed when it's barely even reaching 50% of the 3.6 Mbps speed of 3G that was advertised last year?

Well I'm glad I didn't upgrade. My 3G beat all of the 3G S phones in this thread except for 2. AT&T rocks in Milwaukee!

...oh wait... maybe that's an argument IN SUPPORT of upgrading...

People got to realize the speed rating for the iphone in these tests does not mean much because the iphone does not often end up streaming large chunks of data. A lot of the time it is only downloading small chunks of data, and the ping time is a killer for that kind of stuff.

I really hope the next generation of cellular network technology deals with latency better.

You can tether up with 3g and ping www.google.com and see some under 200ms pings.. the Speedtest apps just sucks, real life pings are much better..

My 3G speeds in NYC are ATROCIOUS, and it really makes me worry about AT&T's 3G network. I average 500/250kbps down/up

same here is jersey. My edge is like 52k and no upload most of the time. AT&T is screwing me. No wonder my email wouldn't send on edge on my 2g phone.
