    Hi

Try calibrate your battery by tying to get it to go down to below 10% and then fully charge.

On the iPhone hold down the Sleep/Wake Button and Home button together until the Apple Logo shows. Then On seeing this Apple Logo release both buttons ,and the iPhone will reset , which has been known to clear most glitches.

If that does not help create a back up to iTunes / iCloud and restore.

One of the latter options would be a Genius Bar appointment.

Sounds like it has hardware issues. If it works without a sim.
Maybe water damage or something else.
Bring it to a repair place.

This is very common on older iPhones. Bandofbrothers is correct. But if all else fails, it's past time to upgrade. A lot of people don't repair anything older that a 4 because it's not worth it to them
