Hello. I am new here and not terribly tech savvy, so I'm sorry for my need for more basic information. I seem to have found some older info about whether the older 3G phones are compatible with T-Mobile service, but haven't had much luck finding anything out about the 3GS. I HATE ATT and don't get great coverage from them where I live. I LOVE t-mobile, but really want to make the iphone plunge. If I go through the right procedures, can I make a new 3GS work with T-Mobile? If so, how do I do this or where can I find out how to do this (remember, I'm not so up on the whole iphone/tech world)?

Thanks a bunch

You can jailbreak/unlock the 3G S with purplera1n or redsn0w, and configure the APN settings and use EDGE for data service. It should work just fine. There are many guides on how to jailbreak and unlock the phone.
