I was wondering what experiences out there have been with the various aftermarket iPod batteries, especially for the 3rd and 4th generation.

The interesting questions would be:

1. What kind of iPod?
2. Where did you get the battery, and which one did you get if they offered more than one battery for you model?
3. How did the uptime between charges compare to how your iPod did when it was brand spanking new? If they claimed 1.5 times (or whatever) the capacity, did you really get that?
4. How has the battery done over time? Does if seem to be holding up to as many recharges (better or worse) as the original?
5. Do you think it was worth the trouble of using a non-Apple part?

So I take it that means the FastMac/TruePower claims are BS?

Not necessarily, it's just as likely that just no one thinks it's worth the trouble to give it a try ;)
