Hi everyone!
I bought a "new" iPhone 12 Pro, seller said he got it as an Apple insurance replacement and never used it.
It came in sealed box, seal intact, seemingly untouched.
Serial number starts with M.
Activation ok, phone works fine overall.
Battery health shows 100% but discharges very quickly overnight - from 100% to 50-60%.
Ran 3UTools check - which shows 78% battery life and 3078 charge cycles for a silver iPhone 12 Pro.
Battery health on my iPhone shows 100%, and it is gold not silver...
IMEI, MEID and serial number correspond to the device I have.
Full paranoia mode activated!
What could be the explanation? Is this a scam?

Full paranoia mode activated!

78% battery health with 3078 charges?

But the phone shows 100% battery health?

And the phone discharges rapidly just sitting overnight?

The maths doesn’t add up.

The phone is real iPhone right? As in you can access Apple’s app store and download apps right?

Personally…I’d be returning the phone back to the seller. Unfortunately you’ve been sold a dud phone from a dishonest seller.

Thanks for the answers.
Yes, the phone seems to be a genuine iPhone as far as I can see.
I was able to set up my iCloud account, download apps, link to iCloud drive, iTunes, Apple watch etc.
The only suspicious thing was the "100%" battery which discharged very fast overnight, when I was asleep. The battery graph did not show any app activity, just a descending slope...
That was why I used 3UTools...
D*mn!
I was hoping someone would tell me it's just a glitch with the 3uTools...
Seems I was scammed!

I finally went to the Apple shop and was told the following:
- the iPhone IS a "franken-phone", made up of so many separate iPhone parts that they could not believe what they were seeing
- the 'logic board' is from an iPhone 11 Pro black
- cameras are from a silver iPhone 11 Pro
- carcass is from a gold iPhone11 Pro, and so is the box it came in
- amazingly, the serial no. and the IMEIs match the ones on the box, which Apple was at a loss to explain
- the battery health seems to be 78%, they said it probably has a 'chip' inside which tells the iPhone it is 100%
- the screen has thicker all round bezels than a genuine iPhone screen would have, it is also much brighter than an iPhone screen; again they were unable to explain, said they had never seen anything like it; the screen does not appear as being replaced or non-original
They were mystified, and said they had never seen anything like it.
As it comes form an insurance company as a replacement phone, they assumed someone had spent time putting it together from parts?!
Why would anyone do this for a 5-year old phone... mystery!
