3072x2304 resolution is for the new12.9 iPad plus/pro. Pretty much confirmed now that the new iPad air was not a new retina HD and 3x assets.

Gonna hate to say this but if this is true, then the 2GB ram is also for the 12.9" not the iPad air 2.

Were the 2GB of RAM + A8X leaks debunked? I don't think they were doesn't that indicate the 2GB of RAM was for the iPad air?
I was wondering why people were so sure that leak with the A8X and 2GB RAM was for the iPad Air 2, it just as easily could be for the iPad Pro?

I don't see how one equals the other. You could also say the A8X is only for the 12.9" but it came to the iPad Air.
I think holding out on the 12.9 was to sell more Air 2's now, then we will buy the 12.9 next spring, it's a money play as much as a supply constraint.

Eh. Apple has always been about focus. And if they come out with everything at once, there'll be another 3-4 year gap of new product categories.
They're already taking a beating for doing too much with software at once and getting a little sloppy.
Let them focus on a few things at a time. The iPad Pro can come when the Watch is done. And maybe the Apple TV will come after that.
Isn't it a bit too early for iPad "Pro" leaks of that type?
I too doubt the iPad Air 2 has a 3x display because otherwise I'm sure Apple would have mentioned the higher PPI. EDIT: Apple's site says 3.1 million pixels and 264 PPI.
Going from 2x on the iPad Air (2048x1536) to 3x on an iPad "Pro" (~4098x3072 assuming similar points per inch to the iPad Air) would be a very large jump, around 4x the pixels. That's probably why the A8X has such a high level of graphics performance, since it may also end up in a 4K display.

It's just a love hate thing with waiting, but I knew the 3x assets were for the pro, now everything will leak and no surprises at all next spring. A sneak peak would have been nice to avoid that.
