4.01 on patch, will I loose information on phone?

Is this considered a wipe, where I loose everything on the phone, or will it be more of a patch where all my stuffs are ok? Where I don't dont need to resync everything?

Nothing should be lost.

And if anything does go wrong, iTunes will have created a backup of your phone. At least that's what it did when I updated last night.

An update is not a restore. You won’t lose anything (unless you have an issue like some users yesterday, where they had to restore their phones, but then you can restore from a backup).
