Sorry to repost this. It had slid off the first page of threads with all the people bitching about their phones. It's nice to be able to post something positive.
That site does not know what it is talking about. I have been controlling volume on my S9s and my other bluetooth stereo headsets since 3.0 on 3G. What I could not do is skip tracks.
You are dead on. I like this site but they are not the best. They sell these types of headsets in their store but in talking abut all the features of the headsets they fail to mention that those features do not work on iPhones, but hey, soon they will.
I have been waiting for this for a long time. I can finally get a bluetooth kit for my motorcycle helmet!!!
I use the Interphone F4 on my helmet. Works like a champ now!
A full implementation of AVRCP 1.3 is supposed to support track forward/back AS WELL AS metadata such as artist and song info. Some cars (such as my infiniti m56) support display of that bluetooth track info.
Does anyone know, or have the ability to test, whether apple implemented support for such Track Info in 4.1?
Skip forward/back is great, and if they have the track data, I'd be in hog heaven.

It's all in there according to the new API specs. You should see this type of function starting to appear with the official release of 4.1
While all that is awesome, I think I can live with just adding song forward and previous!! Don't expect too much and be disappointed!!
track skipping still doesn't work on the moto s9 hd's
I can confirm that unfortunately. Anybody have that newer bluetooth headset from Sony. Does that work?
4.0.1
It's not supposed to work on 4.0.1
The version that adds AVRCP is 4.1
just to clarify...is this why my Plantronics Voyager 855 does not control the music (except play/pause) on my 3GS running 4.0.1? And that it should do forward/back once 4.1 is released?
