Hi,

This is one of my several threads on roughly the same topic. Maybe I'm being thick, but I can't seem to find a definitive answer (despite extensive searching)...

I am in the process of ripping my DVDs for future use on (an as yet unbought) :apple: TV. Because of the current anamorphic and 5.1 limitations, I am currently only ripping 4:3 TV shows with stereo or mono sound (anything widescreen or surround sound will wait 'till later)...

Using MediaFork, most of these (PAL) DVDs register at a resolution of around 720x576 (with slight +- variations). Will such resolutions play undistorted on :apple: TV?

As far as other settings are concerned, what should I use? For crappy quality B+W stuff (Dad's Army, specifically) I have been using the iPod settings at 1450 kbps... and it looks fine. However, I don't want to make such compromises with my more recent (better looking) stuff. What settings can I go up to (don't care about file size; don't care about iPod compatibility)...

Please help...

Steve.

I'd also like to know whether I should be using the "Main" or "iPod" profile. Again, I don't care about iPod compatibility but I do want everything to look good on the Apple TV...

Steve.
