4.3 sms tones

Hi,
I've been running 4.3 gm for a few days now and my sms text tones seem messed up, for some reason it will only play half of the tone.

I will of course be submitting as an issue, but has anyone else been getting this and has anyone worked out a fix yet?

Thought I read somewhere that they had reduced the length of some of them in 4.3 as everyone complained that the new ones were ridiculously too long
 
I don't think there is an issue here. Apple has shortened them in response to customer complaints. As always, I could be wrong but that is what I was told by someone who would know.

....can someone confirm this?! Is it all of the default ones that have been shortened - because if this is so, they are all gonna sound cr@p...!!

I'm just really debating if 'updating' to 4.3 really is worth it - I don't use tethering and never will use the wifi hotspot feature ( the only other wifi compatible device at home is my OH's iPhone 3G which will never be connected to my iPhone 4) - I can't really see the justification:confused:

They may have shortened the length of time to play a tone, but not the tone itself.

Also, it's not every tone and not all the time. Sometimes they play correctly. Not able to reproduce it which in itself is annoying.

I've noticed that Minuet, Update and Anticipate seem to be unchanged, but the rest have been reduced. I have a GM build of iOS 4.3 and can confirm this. My favorite was News Flash and I actually liked the longer version, oh well (damn complainers).
 
FINALLY. text tones that are a reasonable length, not 10 seconds.

i've been running iOS4.3 for a few days but i didn't even bother to check

Agreed. My favorite telegraph is now lame. I have gone back to Tri-Tone due to the change.

I use Update because its more unique amoung my friends. 4.3 didn't change the length though I wish it was a bit shorter. Under Settings->Messages there's an option for playing the tone 'twice' but it has no affect.
 
I didn't even notice until I saw this. What other little things have they changed in 4.3?

I like the shorter length in the tones. The old ones were way too long.
 
I don't mind that some were shortened, but some of them were completely ruined with this update.

I don't understand why they would feel the need to shorten calypso or noir. They were fine! Now they're...nothing.

they weren't fine. i'm using calypso now.

it's supposed to be a message tone, not a goddamn RINGTONE.

Agreed ....Noir was my favorite. And it was about as long as my new text tone (Descend) but yet Descend wasn't shortened and Noir got the ax. They could have done it vice-versa and a shortened Descend would have still been fine. But shortening Noir?!? ....makes no sense at all.

Oh well, thats my lone gripe about iOS 4.3 and can be easily overlooked....
