I dont know.
So, i saw some threads complaining about the small screen of the iphone 5. Here is my opinion.

I have used htc in the past, 4 + inches, now since iphone 5 ( first iphone ) i think i can tell my opinion. My father has a samsung galaxy s3 ( im 21 btw ). I 've used it a couple of times, and for me is too big. I like that you can browse more easily and you can see more content, its a gorgeous display, BUT, its impossible to use with one hand, i cant reach the borders without forcing my hand, and i have to grab it carefully because its like always going to fall (i have big size hands too).

So the iphone 5 display for me is not perfect, nor bad. For me is sufficient, BUT, i could handle a bigger screen, like 4.2 / 4.3. Its easy to hold and comfortable in the hand. It's nice to see more web content on the s3 though. So for me its sufficient but not perfect, it think that apple should follow the leading market, which it's going large; not huge like s4, but in the middle, would be the sweet spot.

I think that the downside of iphone is clearly ios, not the screen, just ios. ios is stale and lacks of lots and lots and lots of features and accesibility that android has, but what i can admire is the fluidity of ios, every time i use the s3, it always, always lag a bit or stutter doing anything, like closing whattsp or going to the home screen.

IOS has the best potential to be the most advanced os on the world, but it seemed like forstall was just sitting and chilling doing nothing. Its just plain stupid to not have shortcuts to turn on wifi or bluetooth for example, or just being so difficult to transfer a file through bluetooth, also contacts info is very limited in the list view, etc. If they dont open their minds apple its going to fail, they need a revamped os, and to bring functionality and simplicity which ios now lacks.

Rant over, thanks for reading.

I'm sorry, I couldn't get over the misspellings to go past the first sentence. And the title says that basically you think a 4 foot phone is sufficient.

Having said that, I don't think 4" is sufficient. I want more real estate and I'm hoping that Apple comes out with a 5" screen by next year at the latest.

I'm sorry. That was very rude of me. And you're right, I can't. If this were a spanish forum, I'd mess up more than you.

I thought you were one of the thousands of people on this forum that are English native speakers and still can't spell worth a lick. For a non-English native speaker, you're actually really good.

Pretty much this.

Apple should just make two different screen sizes

4'' the smaller version

4.5''-5'' the bigger version

Keep those Apple fanboys who religiously want their small screens soul's pure.

Then make one for those that understand the benefit of having a larger screen.

Apple can make a larger screen without making the device that much larger. In fact it would be probably a bit thicker but that means more room for battery.

Agreed. This is what i've been saying too. Apple needs to go to 768p/4.3 inch (no higher) screen whilst shrinking the bezel which has always been too large IMHO. The Facetime camera can lie on the left of the headset speaker whilst the proximity sensor lies to its right. Something like the Motorola RAZRi

They then need to work on iOS and bring it from 2007 to 2013. Revise the UI and core services instead of the patching they've been doing.

That said, they won't necessarily fail if they don't do these either. iPhone 4S/4 are the best selling iPhones for Apple which suggests a large market out there prefer the 3.5 inch screen/form factor.

I think it's mind blowing how many people say this. So because Apple doesn't make a phone .2 to .3 inches bigger, they are going to fail?

There are many other people that are happy with it.

A larger screen would likely allow for a slimmer device. As a result it's hard to take you and your 4.5" seriously.

I think Apple should have made the iPhone 5 both longer and wider, then it will look much nicer than the current model, which looks like a TV remote tbh .

However, if you make it too big, then I doubt there's a point in purchasing an iPad Mini.

In the Android world, there is a phone for every taste and size. In the iOS world, there is only Apple. Their latest, most capable phone comes in one size only. Apple is not helping itself win market share by sticking with one phone size. It is also losing the perception of being an innovator by only introducing one new handset each year.
Give the consumer choices! Not iPhone 5 or Android...

All of the market share reports disagree with you. Apple has gained, not lost. If market share kent that much then Apple would only be making 30% of the profits. Yet they're taking in over 80%. They have sold more iPhone 5's than any other iPhone. It out sells every other device on the market 3 fold. It seems to me that Apple is doing something right. So, if you were Apple. Would you change?

What a pompous statement. I guess I can say then that you don't understand the benefit of having a smaller screen? I've been through several "larger screen" Android devices and one of the biggest motivations for me to come back to the iPhone was the smaller, more one-hand friendly experience and I haven't looked back. It's not that I am failing to understand some mysteriously magical benefits of the big-screen phones, it's that I've been there/done that and it's not as magical an experience as some people seem to think, at least not for me.

The screen is not going to change anytime soon. We still don't even have apps updated for the iPhone 5.
