4 inch screen same size iPhone

I guess if Apple going to make a 4 inch screen for the iPhone there going to have to make a bigger phone because you can't tell me that phone isn't ugly.

Once again Apple is shown to be a follower and catching up to the competition. The competition has 4 inch plus screens and now Apple must do the same.
 
sorry but that is the most ridiculous mock up ever. its ugly. a screen like this would be better IMO. theres plenty of space on the iphone 4 that can be used up. none of this edge to edge carry on. get over it

Of course overlooking the number of phones that now sport touchscreen only interfaces and keyboards, coincidentally (of course) UI similarities (green and gray text bubbles for SMS? Now where have I seen that before?) Once again you're showing your trolling, why do you even come here if you hate the phone?

You're assuming, of course, that a 4" screen is what everyone wants. I, for one, am quite happy with current size...fits nicely in the pocket.

Guess we all have to trust that a multi-billion dollar international corporation is capable of making strategic decisions based on solid market research rather than a few outspoken people on MR.

This is the most ideal iPhone design i would want. Hopefully Apple will work it's way into creating something similar.
I don't see anything that needs to be changed with this one, and it'll end up like the MacBook Pros, they'll just keep it as the normal design for a long time and bump up the specs inside.
 
If they just increase the size keeping the same aspect ratio then the pixel density goes down (I'm assuming they won't up pixel count) and that could be classed as a downgrade from the iphone 4 screen. Also apps would just be larger on screen but not gain real estate. It would make sense to me that they keep the same width, but extend the height of the screen by adding more pixels. Keep the pixel density the same and move more towards a 16:9 ratio. Existing apps could run straight away with say a small amount of letter boxing and developers could make small tweaks to update their apps to work with both the current iphone screen and the new one, taking advantage of the increased real estate. A longer screen could fit on the current sized iphone 4

Even though this design has been around for awhile, I really like it.

Well, it seems that EVERY OTHER PHONE MANUFACTURER might have done this same solid market research and come up with the desire for a 4"+ screen on THEIR phones. So I guess only Apple counts - eh? :rolleyes: :p

Was talking with the manager at the VZW store. He's a Droid x fan cause of the larger screen. However he commented how significantly crisp the iPhone screen was compared to the X although the iPhone 4 has a smaller screen.

On another note off topic it amazes me that VZW reps in all stores I go too say the Droid x is the best handset on the market. It's a nice handset but not the best. I think HTC devices are better.

And this shape/size screen would be really good for watching a movie on the iPhone in widescreen

I agree that picture I posted is horrible but the picture that you posted is that a 4 inch screen on the iPhone also how big is the phone compared to the iPhone 4? That picture make the phone look like a smaller iPad.

That because that's been Verizon's number one phone for sometime now. Go to At&t and ask the same question. I bet you most of them are going to say the iPhone 4.

I don't have a problem with the 3.5 display, I would like a 4 inch but it's not that big of a deal to me. Does that mean I'm out of my mind???
