Anyone who thinks a 3.5' display is good enough or the next iPhone version should be 3.5 is out of their mind.

you do realize that the difference between 3.5" and 4.0" is 1.27cm, right?

instead of focusing on hardware, give us some proper notifications.

Of course overlooking the number of phones that now sport touchscreen only interfaces and keyboards, coincidentally (of course) UI similarities (green and gray text bubbles for SMS? Now where have I seen that before?) Once again you're showing your trolling, why do you even come here if you hate the phone?

He would rather stick with a phone that he dislikes. Not smart enough to realize there's tons of phones out there he can switch too.

Maybe all these iPhone "nano" rumors are actually just the size of the current iPhone and the next iPhone will be a smudge bigger.Just saying....! Also of they make a larger one I'd hope they'd give us the option to buy one the current size. I know that's a pipedream.

Others argue that the IPad is too large. :shrugs:

I will probably say this a dozen times before the summer comes... It is VERY annoying that upcoming iphone5 rumors should pop up just after I can finally get my hands on a VZW iphone (I am locked to the company). My patience has been exhausted with this wait for technology.

sorry but that is the most ridiculous mock up ever. its ugly. a screen like this would be better IMO. theres plenty of space on the iphone 4 that can be used up. none of this edge to edge carry on. get over it

Even though this mockup has survived a few iPhone revisions, I still prefer it to anything Apple's released.

That mock-up is not good because the button is part of the edge bezel. All sorts of problems with it being pressed inadvertently while in a pocket (killin ur battery, dialin ur ex-girfriend)

I'm happy with the size of the iphone's screen. All these mini-tablet phones coming out lately look ridiculous to me.

The thing for Apple is to fit a 4 inch screen and keep the dimensions as close as possible to the previous iPhones and avoid the mini-tablet-phone look.

A 4 inch screen will be super sweet :D

I'm digging the matte black back (forgive the alliteration). If that home button was a little more reasonable, I would buy that thing in a second.

If only I could have problems like that...So lonely...:(

I really like the material that was used on the back of my Droid Eris (also used on the Incredible). I absolutely love the design of the iPhone 4 - it looks phenomenal - but my only complaint is that I have to be careful where I set it, because the smooth back likes to slide off of nearly anything I set it on. It also makes it nearly impossible to use the no-handed, head-to-shoulder technique when talking on the phone, because it just slides down my shoulder.

You're assuming, of course, that a 4" screen is what everyone wants. I, for one, am quite happy with current size...fits nicely in the pocket.

Guess we all have to trust that a multi-billion dollar international corporation is capable of making strategic decisions based on solid market research rather than a few outspoken people on MR.

Indeed.

I'm sure if and when iPhone comes out with a 4 inch screen you'll be saying that it looks great and will be praising it, all you iPhone fanboys are fickle.

4 inch and up is now the industry standard get used to it.

Thank you for the mental health assessment....so constructive.

Well, it seems that EVERY OTHER PHONE MANUFACTURER might have done this same solid market research and come up with the desire for a 4"+ screen on THEIR phones. So I guess only Apple counts - eh? :p

Well, considering Apple essentially established the popular smartphone market and every other phone manufacturer has to distinguish itself against the real industry standard...the iPhone (which individual smartphone handset has sold more? is anyone striving to make the next HTC killer?), to say that every other manufacturer decided on 4" really doesn't carry much weight.

Speaking from my own personal experience, the 4.3 screens aren't comfortable to hold in my average sized hands and they certainly don't fit comfortably in my average sized pockets. Since Apple markets to hundreds of millions of average users and not to niche-worthy, spec-hungry techno geeks, I would say (with just a little bit of hope thrown in) that the size of the iPhone will probably not change in the near future. Even if I were to leave the iEcosystem, I would not buy a 4" phone.

If you want a large screen, that's fine. Buy an Android based phone. It's a perfectly worthy device, no need to feel inadequate.

WoW!! this mockup is amazing.. anymore details on this one.. I read some post saying its been around for some time .. if apple made this one i would buy it .5 seconds! I totally love the look of it minus the home button on the edge that phone is sleek, classy and elegant!

Actually that is incorrect there are more smaller screen smartphones sold than lager screen smartphones. iPhones, Blackberries and Nokia phones are all under 4 inches and all three of them out sale all the 4 inch or bigger Android and WP 7 phones combined.

I understand what you're saying and I think more companies will move to a larger screen in the years to come.
