    1) Huge spec of dust under the screen
    2) Horrid, horrid backlight bleeding
    3) Yellow screen on bottom 1/2
    4) Bad backlight bleeding and dead pixel

Should I just ****ing give up, or do "perfect" iPads actually exist? I'm sick of going back to the Apple store. They oftentimes give me a referb which obviously isn't going to be a good iPad...

Ignore brocky, do you like the iPad apart from these quality issues?

If yes, keep trying. If you don't like the iPad as a format that much, why annoy yourself with quality issues? I had the same frustration with unibody MBs and MBPs. I had to replace one after the other.

Maybe I'm not as critical as you, but mine appears to be "perfect" in my eyes.

Sorry about your luck. Can you try a different store?

I do not know what state you live in, but it is illegal in most states to sell returned or refurbished computers and electronics.

I am also not aware of Apple doing this in the past. You would have gotten a brown box with a refurb serial number if that is what is happening.

I have two iPads, each purchased on their respective Launch days. Both are absolutely perfect -- no complaints from me at all. It is too bad that you have been so dissatisfied......

    Mine is perfect.

Id say exchange it over the phone that way you don't run the risk of having managers like I did long ago at Circuit City who made us box up returns and sell them as brand new so that we had less "open box" items.

I'm not saying Apple does this but its something I'm always leery about after working at CCity.

Give up, I suspect you'd find something wrong with most of our "perfect" ipads.

Give up is my advice, too. I don't think you will ever be happy, and if/when you are then you'll drop it or it will get stolen. You're doomed. :(

I wouldn't give up but i'm starting to feel the same way you do.

I've been through 3 ipads, the latest i just got last night and haven't even gotten a chance to turn it on.

Its got a huge spec of dust right in the middle of the screen. Its been the same store every time and now i just know they are going to look at me like im crazy.

    1) It happens, sometimes it's not actually that rare. I've had a model with dust under the screen no big deal, got it replaced.

    2) Get it replaced (you already have).

    3) That's just the glue, give it a few days to dry first before you return it. But since you already did, no reason for this sentence I guess.

    4) Dead pixels happen and the backlight bleeding isn't good but they should have just replaced the screen not the entire device. Might be easier to just do the entire device already on their end though.

You've only had a few replacements and the product is slightly new still. Yes, perfect ones exist and you'll probably have better luck returning it and buying a new one, as the models you've gotten are refurbished and quality is a bit lower with those from my experience (you'd think it'd be better, no?).

There is no need to curse and get upset. This is life, if you can't deal with it move on to a different product. Getting it replaced a few times isn't so bad.

Try getting a bunch of iPhones replaced (15+) over 3 months. Then you're entitled to bitch about quality.

I have a launch day 32gb wifi, no issues with the screen. Also have a 64gb 3G that I received 2 weeks ago, no issues. I did recently return a iPhone to the apple store because the battery was bulging and cracked case. The phone I got as a replacement is refurbished, however, the battery doesn't last as long as my original 3GS. I guess after your 15 days are over, apple does not have to give you a new product back. So, if anyone has any issues, return and re-buy otherwise your get a refurb.

I'm sorry, but complaining about it isn't the answer. Why don't you go to Apple and get them replaced???

I have two ipads and they are fine.

You have symptoms of OCD. I am serious and yes I am qualified to offer this opinion. It is likely that no ipad will be "perfect" in your eyes.

Cognitive therapy (ERP) has been shown to be highly effective in treating OCD. I would suggest contacting a local therapist in your area.

I too have bad OCD and considered freaking out over the smallest imperfections of my iPad but then I realized how awesome this thing was and didn't want to part with it to have it replaced! Drink a beer and chill out, it's just a device that won't last you longer than a few years tops.

I have two iPads and the only difference between them is that one orientation button is slightly 'clickier' than the other.

Dead pixels and dust under the screen are clear issues needing a replacement. The colouring and backlight bleed are perceptual. Under what conditions/against what standard did you test the screens?

In a pitch black room with a black light and a magnifying glass I would think....

Some people just want to find faults..... Makes me laugh... Life must be so sad.
