4 person family plan question (activating)

So, I have a somewhat unique question that someone might be able to answer for me. As my title says, I have 4 iPhones on my family plan. My wife, my in laws and myself. My wife and I have iPhone 7 +’s, which we got last year. My in laws have iPhone 5 c’s

So, my wife and I ordered 2 iPhone X’s on my in laws lines, since they have been up for upgrades forever. When they come, the plan was to give them our 7+’s and put the X’s on our lines. Can we do this ourself, or will I need to call or go into a Verizon store?

I was hoping maybe it was as simple as taking the sims out of the 7+’s, and putting them in the X’s and then taking the sims from the X’s and putting them in the 7+’s....? Will this work?

Cool thanks. I just wasn’t sure if it mattered because the sims would be new in the X’s....
