Yeah I honestly can’t tell a difference whatsoever when it’s on my wrist. Sure, looking at them side by side the s4 is ever so slightly bigger than my s0, but the size increase is completely negligible

+1 it really isn’t noticeable, the screen size is definitely noticeable but the overall size of the watch itself feels about the same as the 42 - slightly larger but barely noticeable.

The 40 looked small in the store, I didn’t try it on because visually it looked too small for me.

Here’s the series 4, 40 and 44 on my 18cm, 7inch wrist. Thoughts? I think the 40 is actually quite modest. It’s a hard choice actually.

To me the 44 looks better.

Thanks for the feedback, I wish Apple kept the 42 size. They both fit well, I’ve seen people with smaller wrists pulling off the 44. Its funny, I don’t like wearing watches and the smaller one felt less intrusive. The idea for purchasing one of these is for health monitoring, I’ve had a heart problem. I guess when the Apple Watch Max comes out next year the our perspective will change once again lol.

You can easily pull off both sizes fine but I would lean towards 44. My wrist is 16.5cm and I had 44 which looked fine with certain bands but with sports band the watch looked too big.

I think the 40mm looks better. I have the same size wrist and will be going from a 38mm to a 40mm. Of course it's subjective, but I think the 40mm is better proportioned for our wrist size.

That said the difference between the two isn't huge in terms of how they look. It's not like the 44mm is a giant watch. The size difference between the Apple Watch cases has always been subtle. When I first tried them on in 2015 I was struck at how close they were, so I ended up making my decision on comfort. To me the 38mm was just more comfortable. The larger case didn't quite sit right, and I kept trying different watch bands and fiddling with it... hoping I could get it to feel as good as the 38, but I could just feel that something was off. Every time I went back to the 38mm it just felt right and looked right to me.

So my advice is to ignore what we are all saying about what we think looks better and go with what feels better. It's going to be strapped to your wrist for many hours a day.
