Since upgrading to Leopard, I have been trying to partition my 250GB USB Hard Drive so it can be used for Time Machine, but also for additional external storage.
Every time I try to partition or reformat the drive in Disk Utility, I get an error: "Disk Erase failed with the error: Input/Output Error".
According to posts all over the internet, this is a bug in Leopard and can be worked around by booting with a Tiger DVD and running Disk Utility there.
Does anyone know if this issue has been resolved in 10.5.2?
