Just a quick one, do the bands for the previous models fit the Ultra perfectly? Some photos look like they don’t sit flush or have a bit of a gap. But I’m unsure if that’s the case or if it’s just photos.

Can anyone clear this up?

I have seen photos both ways. Some photos show a +/- 1mm gap and the ends, others look flush. It doesn't really make sense to me, but it seems to vary.

Different but related issue: some of my Nike bands (the perforated version of the Sport band) really don't want to slide into the AWU, but slide into my S7 just fine. That also does not make sense to me. Maybe it's user error of some sort...

I would love to see photos if anyone has them or can link to them, in particular of the Ultra Ocean band and how it looks with 45mm Series 7. Probably SOL for this specific of a request, but I was going to start a thread asking about it and saw this thread. Thanks if anyone is in similar boat!

Here’s an official Apple sold Nike band on an AWU. No, it’s not perfectly flush. The band base recesses a bit at the end where the case has an obvious more outward curvature than the other Watch models. In other words, it doesn’t follow the same curvature. I really don’t care though. Life isn’t perfect and I don’t expect my watch-band interface to be either lol. Let me know if you want more pics from different angles.

Good to know, thanks! That looks plenty good enough for me too, I wouldn’t want it too off, but within 1mm or similar is totally fine. I’m trying to resist buying more bands since I’m content with the ones I have, reading these forums though, it’s hard not to want to buy more and more… :)

I think it depends on the bands though. Some fit flush and others leave spaces at each end.

I don’t use the 45 mm bands on my ultra, as although many of them do fit well, the Nikes are particularly bad and leave that gap on both sides which to me looks unsightly

If many of the 45mm bands fit well on the Ultra but the Nikes don’t, then technically the Nikes should fit bad on the non Ultra watches too, right? So therefore, the Nike bands don’t fit well on any watch? So you’re saying the band connection lugs are different across the board?

Just trying to understand because I posted a pic of the Nike band on an Ultra and don’t want to mislead the OP. Plus I’m curious for myself. I don’t have a large collection of bands nor do I swap often.

There isn’t a gap there per se. The curvature between the band lug and Watch is different giving an illusion of a gap.

The braided solo loop is way off (My 45mm loop has a big gap on either side of the Ultra) but it seems the Braided Loop is the worst for this on the Ultra.

To be honest, I’m not sure. All I know is that the Nikes do leave a gap just as in your pic. it would be good to get some feedback from other people as to how other bands such as the leather links fit.

Yeah, I’ve read enough threads on here to know that that pic @Itinj24 posted probably strikes many people as an unacceptably large gap, whereas others like me it’s not bad at all. Looking at my Nike band right now on my S7, it’s more flush than that pic w/ the Ultra. Similarly though I bet some people wouldn’t like my setup as the band width I’m wearing is just 1-2 mm thinner than my other bands, which I noticed right away, but then I got used to it.
For my personal uses I get sweaty regularly enough that at least for now, I’m sticking with the Nike band since it’s the most breathable so far.

Apologies to OP as this is not staying on-topic with the Ultra question… 😏

They work just fine. The bands that don't have a metal piece and are integrated into the material fit perfectly.
