If you didn't see the Circuit City flyer in the Sunday paper this morning then you didn't seen there purple iPod nano for 199. :) Either this is what Apple is releasing this Tuesday or someone is very bad with editing an image.

i would be surprised they would put something like that on the front of their circular-- on their website, on the front iPod page, the pink looks a little purpulish (sp?), so it may just be a color error?

If Apple released a purple iPod I would so buy the moment it is for sale at an Apple store.

But it unfortunately sounds like a print issue or one of those pesky "next Tuesday" releases ;)

My bet is on printing error and confusion with there being no pink iPod Shuffle. Whoever worked on the weekly ad likely thought the pink nano (since it's "new" and these ads are finalized weeks before they appear in the paper) was the mistake and instead changed it to the same color purple as the shuffle.

there should be a pink shuffle then!

the differences are

there is no pink shuffle
there is no purple nano
there is no black shuffle

thats the only differences in color

This is great, Engadget thinks that there may just be a new purple iPod nano! This is getting very interesting...

the 1 model number is different from the pink one

its different

if you compare the model numbers (on the bottom)

the difference is the last one..which is not the pink one

is it really that big of a deal?...ooooh ahhh a new...color? thats it?

A new color could bring in people that were holding out for a purple iPod nano. Apple is doing everything they can to boost sales with the economic slump we are in.
