Alright, I've tried looking this up, but my new MBP has this awfully irritating tick a lot of times. It is most prominent when playing games (WoW, Command & Conquer 3), as it just clicks until I exit the program. It also makes click noises when loading web sights, or scrolling down pages. I called an apple rep, and he told me that this is not normal and I should take it in to my local Apple Store. I did just that.
The first representative listened to the noise, and informed me that it wasn't normal, and called the manager. The manager told me that it is normal on anything graphics intensive, and was just the fan, but took it back to have a technician check it nonetheless. He returned 20 minutes later and let me know that my MBP was just fine.
Is this true, how can any MBP gamers stand this annoying tick? If anything, it's made me regret my purchase more than anything else. Even hearing it while browsing the internet is too much for me.
I'm still debating whether or not to keep my machine, or return it within the 14 day limit.
Edit: Playing DVD's also causes my MBP to make this noise.
