just a side now. I fed several years of powerball numbers into a database and found that some numbers are more likely than others. Actually anything above 50 was 70% less likely to occur (53 occurred in the first draw I used)
There are other numbers that were slightly more likely to occur than average. Also when they showed up they were more like in a certain position.

There are 55,285 members on MR forums. I wouldn't know how many of those are active? 5000? 10000?
Worst case scenario: 55,285 iPod shuffles = £3,814,665 off the now £55,000,000 jackpot.
Probable: 5,000 iPod shuffles = £345,000

The actual number of actual posters would probably be closer to 150. I'd just include those people with over 100 posts, and those people with 100 posts need to be active and post in a thread I make within a week, so 100 people sounds accurate to me. Its not very expensive.
Lets say 100 first class tickets to Toronto or London (say $2000 USD average per ticket) = $200 000 USD.
Everybody gets an iPod Shuffle = so around $10000

By the way in Europe your lorrery winnings are Tax-free, just thought I'd mention it as I think in the US the IRS help themselves to 50%
Lotteries in Canada are about the only things that are tax-free... but our jackpots aren't nearly as large as 50 million euros. Most regional lotteries are a few tens of millions, once somebody wins they drop down to like five... but it's still a boatload of money.

Wait a minute, lets get this clear. It's not 50 million euros, its £55 million pounds.
£55 mil = 80.7 mil = $99.48 mil
Yes, it's 100% Tax free. Plus the UK lottery gives a huge percentage of what's left after the jackpot to help initiatives, charities etc. I believe the figure is £18 billion = $31.23 to charities and local initiatives since its start in 1994.

However, on must ALSO get the two bonus numbers for the Jackpot. That is:
10C2 = 1 in 45.
Now... to get all 5 right AND the two bonus balls we need to do some multiplication...
There is a 1 in 95,344,200 chance of winning this lottery. Liklihood of this happening? Worse than the liklihood of getting struck by lightening (1 in 700,000), Chance of Asteroid hitting us in 2030 (1 in 500), Chance of me getting laid tonight (1 in 61,000000 - the amount of people, female or male in the UK who could possibly me but probably wont.).

You should be able to get a better rate if you walk into your bank managers office without an appointment and ask for an hour or two of his time, a cup of tea and a sandwich. Better still rent a villa in Monte Carlo, call him and ask him to come to you.
