24 Cycles, 84% Health???

Hi all,
I've had my macbook pro for about 6 months now but I've only just calibrated my battery :eek: Anyways after I calibrated it, according to coconutbattery my current battery capacity is 84% and istat lists it at 82%, with only 24 load cycles! :eek: From what I have searched through on this forum, this is way too low for the amount of charge cycles, yes? So I can call applecare and complain? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
 
Mine was at 50-60% at 9 months with 108 cycles or so and they replaced it.

Try running it down to about 40% charge, then take it out of the MBP and leave it in a cool place for a day of two, then charge it back up to 100% and have another look at the capacity. In my experience this procedure seems to rectify any calibration errors that a total discharge sometimes doesn't (thou I could just be crazy!). If its still reading anywhere in the 80%'s give Apple a call of take it back to the store, your still covered under warranty.

Use the System profiler rather than widgets just to be sure the error is with the battery not the widget.
 
I keep my laptop plugged in all the time typically. I've noticed unfavorable decrease in battery life %.

Sometimes I'll take it off battery (actually I do it more frequently), kick back, and relax while working. I'll wait till the last minute to go plug it in (15min left). After I did that a few times, wear it all the way down and charge it back up it greatly improved the life.

Its like the battery for my camera, it suggests not leaving it in the camera as it will over time depreciate faster.

While I wouldn't take my battery out every time (thats asinine, constantly leaving it plugged in isn't any way better)

The problem with taking out the battery while plugged in is that MBP will run only at half speed. I noticed the video encoding takes twice as long compared to battery + power plugged in.:mad:

revise your power saver settings. it will work almost the same in both cases.
 
86 cycles 90% health, of course I do calibrate whenever I am remotely close to running her dry.

80%/300 cycles is the cutoff, but if its 82% at only 24 cycles its definitely going to smash that. But in general the figure can go up and down quite a bit, it also initially may drop to 90%+ and then be OK, and stay there for a while, so if its 98% after 2 cycles don't worry unless it gets to 80% at least than 300 cycles.

Yes. Unless its typically below 75% at 300 cycles I imagine you won't get a replacement. Wait until its below 80% before you push for a replacement, unless the cycle count is insanely low (i.e. 82% at 24 cycles) and its very close to 80%, even then its probably worth waiting until it crosses the 80%-75% line.
 
Keep in mind that the 80% or 300 cycles measure is only good for one year. You keep your computer plugged in all the time and do 1 cycle a year...you're not covered for 300 years.
 
5 months, 72 cycles, 97% health.

charge only reaches to 99% even when battery icon says charged.

iStat Pro

38 Cycles - about a month - 97% (it was at 96% for a little, then it went back up)

This doesnt seem right, My MacBook had over 400 Cylcles and it was still at like 99% when I sold it!

I cycled my battery from 100% down to 0% then back up to 100% (without it being on) the first day I got it.
