C Chaos123x macrumors 68000 Mar 11, 2009 #2 The 4870 should smoke the 3870. Unless there is a driver problem, but ATI is pretty good with Apple drivers. The only reason the 8800GT was slower than the 3870 was the drivers, that card should of rocked.
