4870 much better than 3870 for Aperture/FCE?

Debating between getting a 4870 vs. a 3870 for a previous Gen Mac Pro. Will I get much benefit for going with the 4870 in Aperture and FCE?

The 4870 should smoke the 3870.

Unless there is a driver problem, but ATI is pretty good with Apple drivers.

The only reason the 8800GT was slower than the 3870 was the drivers, that card should of rocked.

Oh piss cakes, I didn't take filters into effect.

FCE itself doesn't use the GPU, but the filters can I suppose… no idea what FCE comes with though.
