I enable ProRaw and make sure RAW icon is not crossed out. but pictures taken only show 12MP with 3024 x 4032 and size 15.6MB. Why picture are not taking with 48MP? what am I missing?

I figured out... it only use 12MP if I take a closeup picture.

edited... I thought I figured out but it just randomly takes picture 48MP or 12MP. it does not matter if it is a closeup. Is there away to get 48MP consistently?

i took a couple of raw photos and they came out fine. I did read somewhere that it’ll only be 48mp on 1x.

i found that using night mode with ProRAW on with the 1x camera still showed 12 MP.

You will have to wait for a third party camera update like Halide to force the full 48 consistently, much like forcing the telephoto because the stock app will sometimes crop from the wide sensor.

One thing you can do in the meantime is toggle the manual macro mode button in the settings app to stop the camera auto switching to the ultra wide macro mode.

Yes, when using night mode it defaults automatically to 12 MP.

Not always, I took a 48MP ProRAW with night mode yesterday. In usual Apple fashion it will decide and not tell you what it’s doing with no way to force the decision either way.
