Updated on 9/3/08:

Just thought I'd bring this thread back from the dead since there is another event next week...I predict the next record is going to be set on 9/9/08! Who's with me?

won't be surprised if that is topped tomorrow, but we'll have to wait and see. things tend to get bigger and bigger. hard to measure the hype this time imo.

I agree with Duke- I predict 13,216

I also predict Apple will host a special event which will draw 11,258

Anddd Next years Macworld will get a whopping 16,846.

Now, lets see how close I am.
;)

10,000

Price is right rules?

Fine, 10,001. :p

Just kidding, but I'll take a stab at 15,032.

iPhone-related events seem to draw more attention. Add a new iPhone, an SDK release, a slight preview of the next OS and the possibility of a new product announcement, I think we'll top that record.

An extra  to anyone who can guess the exact time it will happen at.
I'll take 11:13.

haha, okay I'll take a real guess too, I am going to push the envolpoe a bit and say with all the iphone useers and the fact that there is going to be more than just iphone related stuff, and the MR is doing the live updates, I am going to say

15,500.. At 2:35 EDT (approx. an hour and 35 minutes after the start time)

e probably knows that, but he's still rather surprised, as am I. There's like 3000 people online right now, and only 250 or so are members, so only 250 of them can try to post. Even with a reduced bandwidth page, it's surprising how many people can fit on this message board. If I remember correctly, there was an upgrade that allowed for far more simultaneous traffic, but I can't remember when that upgrade was made.

^ It was done last year IIRC. There's also additional capacity brought on-board during high profile (and there for high traffic) events like MWSF/WWDC.

Still though, 15k is impressive.
