Has anyone seen a hack that makes the 4G Indicator (when connected to HSPA) appear on a 5.0.1 Jailbroken iPhone 4S?

That would be very easy to accomplish.
Just gotta copy and replace the current 3G icon using ssh.

Thanks for the reply, but I meant for it to be able to differentiate between "3G" (and put 3G) and "HSPA" (and put the 4G icon), not just SSH an icon.

Thanks again :)

I'm sure we will see a package on cydia down the road.
Shouldn't be hard to copy over the code and install it on 5.0.1

I agree. Give it a day or so.

The only reason I would ever be tempted to go to 5.1 is really just due to smart playlists working over iTunes match ... but other than that 5.1 is a huge blah

I'd prefer a more realistic tweak that differentiates between and displays 3G and H+ when appropriate ;)

This is something I'm interested in too, just to see where I have AT&T HSPA+ and where I do not rather than running Speedtest and trying to guess which speeds are which.

Not a dealbreaker or reason to lose a JB, but would still be cool.

Completely agree. AT&T claims I have HSPA+ in my area. I don't really see the massive speed boost. I get ~3mbit. It would be interesting to see what my phone thinks I have in my area.

That's the thing.
They might have enabled HSPA+ in your area but if they didnt add the appropriate backhaul on their towers to push that speed you will still see low speeds like 1-2mbps
So really the 4G doesnt indicate much cause I believe they updated almost all 3G towers to HPSA+

I searched for such a tweak within minutes of jailbreaking my 4S. I still haven't seen it. I checked with at&t and they claim that all the sites in my area have the enhanced data backhaul. I have seen no improvement in speed, I have a 4 in my house and the speeds are pretty much the same all the time.

Updated the thread title :) Makes it easier to understand. Any Cydia modders out there that could help?

I have a feeling that the only way we are going to get this feature is by waiting for a jailbroken 5.1.. :/

There is no way to like extract the at&T carriersettings bundles and load it onto a 5.0.1 iPhone?

Well I would think there would be some way to do so, which is why we are asking for someone smarter than us on jailbreaking. :D

Wirelessly posted (iPhone 4S: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A405 Safari/7534.48.3)

I agree. I check On cydia often, I honestly figured that someone would've just done it... Who doesnt want to know what network they're on? It seems important to me. But yes I don't know how to do it so I'm not complaining.

Im using 4G for iphone4 on my 4S and it works perfectly on 5.0.1

Thanks for your reply. I checked this out, but unfortunately; it does not actually allow your iPhone 4S to display an indicator when your phone connects to the HSPA+ network, it merely changes the 3G logo to a 4G one.
