I have 4G LTE coverage in my area. Currently with 3G i get around 3 bars of 3G if i'm lucky. usually is 2-1. I have an AT&T MicroCell, but obviously it's only 3G. With my iPhone 5 would i have to turn off LTE in my home to use my microcell and are the LTE towers different? Could i have better coverage or are they all on the same towers?

You wont need to turn off LTE to use your microcell.
Not sure if you will have better coverage at your home with LTE or worst. You will have to see for yourself.

Not every 3G tower is 4G capable. Can be kind of misleading when they announce a city is 4G. For me, I get stronger 3G signal from Verizon, but when it is 4G the bars go from 3 or 4 to 1 or 2. There is a 3g tower less than 1 mile away, with a 3G/4G tower about 2 miles in another direction.
