I have got a 2.16GHz Macbook Pro and I was wondering if I bought 4GB Ram, would it work? I know I will only be able to see 3GHz at best but when I've had 3GB (2GB + 1GB) in the past my MBP has been very selective as to whether or not it will boot, however both chips work fine independently.

If it's the Core Duo, then it will only take 2 gb. Anything more and it won't boot. If it's the Core 2 Duo model, then yes, you can put in 4 gb for about 3.3 gb available.
