what a stupid idiotic idea that to re-download Lion, took me a google to find out how, go to purchase, hold option, click on Mac OS X Lion, takes you to the lion purchase page, then go back to purchased and you can click on install to re-download. Apple in future need to make an option for one to be able to put it to a disc so you don't need to download twice.

I might as well try a 'clean install' rather than the upgrade install I did see if that improves anything apart from all the bugs of course. so how does one put it to dvd once its downloaded? I don't ever wanna download it again.

I don't see any issue with this per se.

Why would you want to have free memory?
Memory is so fast, I'd rather want my computer to use it than leave it free!
Even if it is just to cache some data and/or applications!

If you're constantly under 100MB you're more likely to get Page Outs - which slows your entire computer down, dramatically.

Out of 2.5m page ins I'm getting 800k page outs ... on a stock 2011 MBP with 4GB of ram, just using it for normal stuff.
Lion is memory intensive.
