4GB vs 8GB ram

2. Don't need it - Don't waste your money.
3. Have a lot of "not sure" scenarios? - Just get 8 GB RAM.

Know what programs you intend to use and if it will be a companion laptop.

I use garangeband a lot, will 4 gb be enough for me on the air? (Plus some casual gaming like portal, and homework).

4 is fine.
