4K and Macbook Pro

    I am getting a Macbook Pro 13 with 8th gen quad core i5. Should that be fine with a 4k monitor

    Yes, without a doubt, the 2016 MBP was decent ish ... the 2018 models are fantastic for external displays.

    My daughter has an i7 version, but it runs a 4K display with no problem. From what I read it would run a couple huge 4K displays.

    How does it go with GUI animations, such as Mission Control, on the 4K monitor? I'm worried that there will be noticeable stuttering when powering that many pixels.

    I can't say that either of us typically uses mission control, but we can run a test and let you know. All she has told me is that Maya has never run so fast on a machine and she's used some pretty good Windows desktop boxes. Something not quite so good is a small amount of lag with a Wacom pen, but I think that may be down to the Wacom driver.
