    Mac Pro Users,

I have been doing some experimenting with Mac Pro 5,1 and Nvidia Titan card, as per this thread:http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1605990

The reason for this was because I wanted to see if I could get Mac Pro to drive a 4K Ultra HD TV (LG 84LM9600 which has 3840 x 2160p resolution).

The LG only as HDMI 1.4a 4K input so my choice was limited to Graphics Adaptors that can provide 4K via single HDMI 1.4 port.

So far I have managed to get Titan going, but have not been able to get 4K resolution coming up as a choice.

Are there any users out there that have managed to get 4K display working with Mac Pro and if so could you please provide details of:

    1. Graphics Adaptor
    2. Connection type (DisplayPort or HDMI)
    3. Display you are using

I am trying to find out if there are issues with 4K and current generation Mac Pro/OS X or if this is a software driver problem.

    Thanks in advance,

    Zebity

    Some headway at last

    666Sheep,

thanks very much for links, some headway at last.

I am now thinking of downloading Developer edition of Mavericks so I can do a 4K test.

Can anyone comment of current Developer release of Mavericks in terms of stability and any know capability issues with major apps from Microsoft (Office), Adobe (CS) & Apple (Logic, Remote Desktop).

    Cheers,

I'm currently running Mavericks on my laptop and for me After Effects doesn't work under Mavericks but Photoshop and Premier Pro do.

Also unfortunately Remote Desktop doesn't open up says Remote Desktop administrator software does not match up to the installed client software version.

(Both of these on my Retina Display Macbook Pro)

I am very interested in knowing about Titan under 10.8.3 and Mavericks
Do you have full CUDA and OpenCL support? when on OSX not windows and does PCIE 2.0 work as well? Strongly considering buying a Titan now. How are you powering it?

    Thanks in Advance!!!

If the software is an issue for Mavericks sure you could just install Mavericks on a small partition to test the relevant applications in relation to the Titan

    Mavericks + MacBook Pro Retina = 4K

    Mac'ers,

I have not updated my Mac Pro to Mavericks yet due to wanting to wait for Nvidia to release new drivers but I did put it on my MacBook Pro Retina display:

Which has: Intel HD Graphics 4000 & Nvidia GeForce GT 650M .

I was able to connect to 84LM9600 84 inch 4K via HDMI and by using Systems Preferences was able to get 4K display at 30 Hz.

So I things are looking up.... I look forward to experimenting with Mac Pro + Titan card once driver update is available.

    Cheers,

    Well done!

My PC is W7000+EIZO CG276(which support 4K input), I can success display 4K(3840*2160p or 4096*2160p@24/25/30Hz) by DisplayPort.
    Hope it helps you out.
