hey guys, i have an ATV 3 and i have a have home theatre system set up, i just saw a few stunning 4k videos on youtube on my iMac by selecting the 4k resolution in the dropdown menu on a video page on youtube (
this is the video for the record)

my question is this, how can i play the same video on my apple tv 3? i want to see that beautiful super hd resolution video on my OLED Tv and my home theater system, i know i can go to the youtube app on my apple tv but how can i tell the youtube app on the apple tv to play the video at the highest available resolution? my OLED Tv is not 4k it is a 1080p LG OLED but neither is my iMac and the 4k video looked absoloutley stunning with a much higher level of detail than other hd content i have seen,

so in other words, how can i tell the youtube app on the apple tv 3 to play the video from youtube at the highest resolution available ?(2160p 4k)

You can't unfortunately. Random, but when I bought my OLED they left the LG demo stick plugged in, so I have some really nice content for Demos :)

Only way I could think of, is to download that video and import it into iTunes and then just AirPlay to your Apple TV. You will only get 1080p, however, I did this and because the video is so well encoded and designed it looks AMAZING on my OLED 42" Samsung HDTV. Try it out, see if you like it.

The higher level of detail is likely because that video is 60fps. It gives that effect. You are not going to be able to simulate that via an AppleTV and although I don't know the specs probably the TV either. About the highest quality you'll see that video is just through the YouTube app.
