Reading through the specs of the new 6s it seems the 4k video recording is only 30fps? One of the things I love about the 6 was the smooth 60fps - not sure if going to 4k would actually be better if a slower frame rate.

Not saying apple should have gone to 4k 60fps (not even sure if that's possible yet on smart phones?), but think i'll stick with the smoother frame rate rather than increased resolution.

4K at 60 fps requires memory bandwidth/storage options currently only available in ultra high-end professional video gear that costs an arm and a leg. No chance in hell we consumers see that for like another 2 years.

The 6 doesn't record video in 60fps by default, you had to enable it in the settings. It's possible that there's a similar thing on the 6S.

Films are filmed at 24. There's nothing wrong with it being capped at 30. Honestly anytime video is recorded at 60fps it just looks cheap and too home video.

That's all subjective.. But I don't see how anyone could say that about recording certain events such as a live music performance, a sporting event or the like.

I disagree. I absolutely love the 60fps and record and all my videos in it. We have a new born baby and I love watching it back in smooth 60fps, really feels like you're reliving the moment. I'm going to stick with 1080p 60fps. :)

My GoPro Hero 4 Black (a dedicated video recorder) gets REALLY hot recording at 4K 30fps. I can't even imagine a phone doing that at 60fps. Plus, I'm not sure how Apple has implemented 4K but on Note 4, you are limited to only recording 4K for 5 minutes at a time. It is that demanding on resources.

Dream on? It's already possible to record 1080p in 60fps on the 6.

Maybe this chart will tell you why we're not going to see 4K at 60fps just yet.

I prefer 24fps for most films, but higher frame rates do have their place. The added sharpness is great for sports, news, etc.
