Would anyone be able to show the difference in file size between a 1min clip in 4K vs a 1min clip in HD?

Im trying to decide if I can get away with a new 16GB SE or go with a 64GB. I want to take 4K video but how much space will it actually consume?

Thanks!

I would say that 4K and 16GB won't go together without a ton of offloading.

Numbers I do not know.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but don't you need a 4k display to be able to truly experience 4k video?

In my real life experience yes. I can't even justify 4K on a 1440p display at the expense of storage.

I just checked some of my 4K videos (not from iPhone, alas).

57 second video 701.9 MB
64 second video 782.1 MB

I see the iPhone estimate on the Photos and Camera settings is 300 MB for 1 minute. Not sure I know why the iPhone estimates are 1/2 the results from my other cameras.

You will regret the 16gb the moment you go on vacation a and want to rely on the phone for pics and videos. I took a 70 minute boat ride and ended up with 300 pics and videos. This took up over 8gb and none of the videos were in 4K.

This is the reason why I think Apple will probably add a 256Gb version with the iPhone 7 (like they did with the iPad Pro).

With nothing downloaded onto a new 16GB SE, you should have about 11GB of available storage, or enough space for about 30 minutes of 4K recording.
