So... good case for 4S?

Hi,

So from your experiences with 4 cases, what manufacture/style will work well with the 4S if:
I want protection (I tend to drop it from time to time) BUT
I don't want a hard plastic slippery case?

I got a bit "burned" getting with my current Speck 3GS case (my bad). Yes, it's built like a tank (good!, except the thin front bottom strip has broken off) but it's so damn slippery (Bad: my phone has a habit of sliding out of my shirt pocket - Not that my stupidity has... ahem... anything to do with that!)! I wish I knew then what I know now...

So what offers protection but has a less slippery surface/is made from less slippery materials?

Thanks!

What about the larger camera and flash on the 4 S?

I'm pretty sure it's only bigger on the inside.

I wanted to know if the Otterbox Defender series case will fit? I have one that was bought at a Verizon store for the iPhone 4...

I see on their site that they have a spot to enter your email to get notified when they release the 4S cases.... I am interested to know if it will work for the 4S before I have to spend another $50?

I would think so since the current Defender supports all iPhone 4's but the website says it doesn't support white iPhones. I don't know why that would be. It probably has something do with the sensors.

The CaseMate ones look like they would probably work. Open area for the side buttons and the space for the camera/flash should be big enough.

Any case that fits the Verizon iPhone 4 will fit the iPhone 4S. Stay away from cases that only fit the AT&T iPhone 4.

I'm probably going to stop in at our local FiveBelow - they've got a TON of iPhone 4 cases, should be able to find something decent enough to start with.

(in case you've not heard of the store, everything is $5 or less, and they are kind of geared towards teen girls, but they do usually have a good selection of phone cases)

Ok. I'm just wondering if Apple did move the mute and volume buttons down? Leading me to believe that hard cases, such as Otterbox Defender, and others like that, will not line up properly?

Otterbox updated their site to say that the old Defender doesn't fit the 4S.

They do have a different Defender for it though.

Why not buy this instead?

Even if it doesn't fit you're only out $0.94 vs $20+

I wasn't advising him to buy it because it's better than any other screen protector. He was just looking for advice regarding fitment.

I usually buy those cheap ebay screen protectors in bunches and just switch them out as they start to look bad. I've been burned too many times by buying the more expensive ones.
