Last night I noticed that my phone was off even though last time I checked it had 50% of battery

Put it on charge and an hour later I unplugged it and it went off instantly and wouldn't turn back on unless connected to the mains

I've checked the crash reports on the phone and it says "CRC ERR!"

The iMac USB can't seem to power it and it will run from the mains for a couple of minutes then lockup

Any ideas?

Try hard reset.

That seemed to work then it went off again.

Just tried restoring through DFU mode and that point it verifies with Apple it fails.

The log shows

Seems pretty obvious you need to take it to the apple store to get replaced

Genius took a look and said he would replace it, he also said there was a fault with the home button although the only thing I noticed was it was a bit loose.

Big thumbs up for Apple customer service #
