Anyone tried the beta on 4s...

Is it only me , or is it still very rough around the edges. I'd say its barely usable...

Inputs take 5 seconds to register. The phone literally freezes every minute...

Of course its a beta but I am just curious if I am the only one around here?

Its barely usable for me (even after setting up as a new phone). I find deleting all the third party apps does improve it - although this is a rather severe step to take :D

Its mostly lagging that is the problem. Not seen any big crashes yet.

Whatsapp crashes everytime on me. As well as hangouts. The Performance is so slow and laggy that it feels like eventually it freezes and reboots itself.

Youtube app crashes with me. So does podcasts. Even safari is basically unjustifiably bad. It is worse than an iPhone classic at this point.

It also has the bug that it does not recognize my Passwort when unlocking it. It wrongly says its incorrect. You need to swipe around a few times or turn the screen off and on to make it work.

Doint Photo correction on the Photo app is very horribly slow.

I was kind of surprised by the lack of performance. I would rather call it Alpha than beta.

But I still think theyll turn it around ;) But still - its among the worst betas I have seen from apple

iOS 8 beta seems lots better than iOS 7 beta. I am not sure about iPhone 4S as I handed mine to my father log times ago. iOS 8 works acceptable on iPad mini which shares same internal ad iPhone 4. There is frame rate drop when switch between apps and I had 2 restrings so far.

YouTube does not crash, however, 1080P videos lags from time to time. Several of my other video streaming app crashes right away. Streaming embeed videos on Safari creases Safari or slow to response all the time.

I do not set up password on my devices as I fee, it is pain in the butt to unlock everytime.

iOS 8 beta 1 is running better on my 4S than iOS 7 beta 1. Issues are what you would expect, but it's running relatively smoothly for a beta. No major issues at all, just the usual beta annoyances.

You're actually saying something positive about iOS? I'm shocked

Bugs, glitches, performance issues, are what defines it as beta, it is not an alpha version.

Oddly enough, the beta stabilized itself with no apparent reason whatsoever. It is even half decently usable :)

I had it on my 4S for a week and it was very unstable, settings app crashing constantly, music app crashing after only playing 1 song making it unusable, really really poor battery life I'd only get 2hrs of usage and it would already be at 20%!!!

I have it on my 4s and minus some lag mostly in the quick reply and keyboard it's not too bad. The App Store is good when it finally works and Facebook is the laggy poc it usually is lol. I have it on my main phone as it makes gone calls and send texts and picture just fine.

Haven't had too many issues with the App Store.. However, the iTunes Store is a mess. Doesn't load for me half the time, very slow.

It works pretty well on my iPhone 4s and iPod Touch 5th Gen. in fact, I hadn't used the iPod after I updated it, around 6pm, and it seemed to be faster by the time I woke up at 5am. I don't have it on my phone anymore until they sort out the very few bugs I've been encountering.

Horrible performance 4s on ios8

1. Settings App crashes
2. Whatsapp / facebook freezes at times
3. Messages get messed up at times
4. Google maps is buggy.

Works really well on iPad mini and iPads though.

I have. It's certainly a bit buggy but you could get away with it, but make sure a lot of ram is free. I'm actually going to start using my iPhone as a permanent hotspot for my Touch because I just love the touch's bigger screen enabling me to see more of the OS
