4s Ringer Screen Pops Up Randomly

It's a 16GB black model. My wife had it for about a week then suddenly without touching the ringer buttons the screen just pops up. She called AT&T and they can't seem to fix it, does anyone have a solution to fix the problem or we better off taking it in for a exchange?

There is a case but the buttons are left exposed.

It definitely thinks a button is being pushed. Genius bar, if you're near an Apple store - otherwise, call them.
