4S Voicemail will not play sometimes

Sometimes on my wife's phone she gets a voicemail alert but it will not play. The phone is on Sprint.

Once when she let me try, I got the voicemail to play by turning off the phone and back on.

She said it has been repeating the problem on occasion.

Any ideas?
