Bought my iPhone 4 on launch day -was eligible to upgrade with new two year agreement since July. I think it's because I was an AT&T customer (wireless) since 1995.

Sold my 4 for $400, bought 4s for $299 plus tax and AT&T upgrade fee. I actually made money from upgrading....

I did the same thing going from 3gs to 4, but I sold 3GS for 300 only.

Don't call me a brainwashed apple fanboy

BlackBerry Storm 2...I know. Was holding out for iPhone 5 on Verizon to be released in June. I'll take the 4Gs now b/c I despise my phone.

Man I fail so hard. After ballyhooing how disappointed I was with the iPhone 4S, I find myself tempted to go ahead and order one. I'm sitting on an upgrade with VZW and I can sell my 32GB iPhone 4 to pay for the new one. Plus I've got other lines with upgrades in April, June and October next year so I will definitely be able to get the iPhone 5 when it's released.

The way I look at it I can't lose either way and can get the latest and greatest for free.

HTC Hero -> Black 16g 4s

For both me and my wife. I like my Hero quite a bit, but it's definitely showing it's age. No further updates in the OS officially. It tends to get really slow after a couple months of re-installing the OS. My wife has to carry two batteries, because she can't get through a day without the second one. And often ends up needing to plug in even with it.

My iPhone 4S will be an upgrade from a 3GS. I had upgraded to the 3GS from the original iPhone, which then became an iPod touch for uncomplicated stuff like checking the news, markets, weather, playing music whenever I'm upstairs during the day. I'm inclined to leave that setup the way it is, since the original iPhone seems as functional as ever, and just give the 3GS to my neighbor for whatever he wants to do with it, give it to his kids or get a cell contract himself. I have another line but it's just for backup cell call capability, and I'm happy with the LG on it. I had thought to put the 3GS on it eventually, but why put a smartphone in that backup slot anyway? Just another thing to sync, and the $15 a month for the extra data plan could buy a lot of groceries over two years.

This, Its slowly dying... It now wont even find 3G T_T!!!

I've been rocking the Droid X since it's launch, quite fond of it actually, but after I got the iPad I knew the iPhone would be my next phone.

If you're upgrading from an iPhone 4 you're an ADD ridden greedy runt. Seriously, taking all the preorders from people who could use the upgrade.

Thats just silly talk

People upgrade for plenty of reasons just because you have the 4 doesn't mean you don't deserve to get it less than anybody else

Your Kidding me right, then you should have just ordered a phone, but instead you have so much free time to sit here and cry about how ppl who work hard for their money and spend it the way they want...

Coming from an iPhone 4 32 GB Black I bought on Pre order day last year, and it is a great phone.

I started with iPhone 3G 16GB White, then went to 3GS White 32GB, then 4 and now 4S, however I will be holding on to this until the LTE iPhone is released. Only reason I went from 3G to 3GS, to 4 was that AT&T had me on an Annual upgrade path where I did not have to spend extra $ to get the latest phone, however after my Pre Order on the 4S looks like they moved me to 18 month upgrade cycle, looks like I will not get a discounted upgrade until 05-2013 now, which is fine by my as I take care of my devices.

3GS. It's on its 3rd screen and the back plastic is cracking from the charging port up.

Original Droid -----> iPhone 4s 64GB Verizon

Was one of the many hold-outs with Verizon that didn't jump to the iPhone 4 in Feb because I wanted to wait for the iPhone 5. I was still hoping and praying for an LTE miracle on announcement day. Oh well, this Droid had a good run but it's a tired slug now...I'm soooooo looking forward to 10/14!

upgrading from iPhone. I had the iPhone then went to 3GS then that lasted me until a few months before iPad2 launch, when I knew I was going to get an iPad2 I thought id switch to a Blackberry to try something different. Blackberry was okay..until i got the iPad2 and realized i wanted an iPhone back so I've been using my original iPhone for about 4 months since I've given up on the POS blackberry..sold it and it paid for 75% of my iPhone4S

This got me completely ROFL. i almost did the same thing with my 3GS sometime in 2010, and the only thing stopping me was I read a couple possibly inaccurate and panning reviews of the blackberry model I was thinking to try out. I mean you never know who has an agenda when they review something any more...

So then I just thought hey just leave it alone, get a blackberry when the next iPhone comes out if you still have that itch. Hah. White iPhone 4S heading my way... original iPhone playing tunes to me from its perch on a mini-rack of gizmo gear right now. But I kept my 3GS so that has remained my actual smartphone since 2009. Thanks for the laugh!

32 GB black iPhone 4 --> 64 GB white 4s. So excited for the extra capacity I can't see straight.

----------

Seeing how many people here are jumping from an iPhone 4 to an iPhone 4S is making me wonder if getting the iPhone 4S (16GB) was the right choice. Makes me wonder why people feel the need to dump their iPhone 4 within one year.

For me, personally, it has nothing to do with the iPhone 4. That was and is a great phone. I have been pining for more capacity for quite a while now, so as soon as I saw that a 64 GB version was available, my mind was made up. The improved camera was also a huge draw for me. The camera on the 4 is outstanding for a cell phone camera; the fact that this one is supposed to be quite a bit better is very exciting.

Upgrading from 32GB iPhone 4 --> Black 64GB iPhone 4S.

"Old" i4 goes to my wife. She's actually getting the 4S on her new line to our Family plan and we'll just do a sim swap.
So that my plan will be fully eligible when the 5 comes around! :)

Giving up on my HTC EVO 3d , long time Android user switching to iPhone 4s in hopes of a smoother UI and just to do something different.
