    Hello all,
I'm running 3 displays on my mac pro, of which 2 are connected via mini display port, and one via dvi. The vga is the ati radeon 5770.
I recently bought an LED tv, and would like to use it as a 4th display.
what would be the best way to do this?
-adding a new ati radeon 5770, and connecting the hdmi cable from the LED tv via a converter?
-adding a new ati radeon 5870 (that comes with an hdmi input) on my existing 5770?
    - adding a blackmagic intensity pro hdmi?
-or any other option you guys can come up with?

Thanks a lot for your replies!
    Z

What I did was add an Nvidia 610 (like this, though mine has different ports) to drive additional displays. It requires little power, is silent, and works fine under OS X. Only issues are you won’t get a bootscreen from it, which won’t be an issue if your main display is connected to your AMD card. Also, if you use Windows, I’ve found AMD and Nvidia drivers really don’t play nice together, so I ended up uninstalling the Nvidia drivers, and sacrificing the displays hooked up to the 610. Not a huge deal for me, but if you use Windows regularly, it would probably be a deal breaker.

I was in a similar spot, first added a 5770 (already had 5870) but then picked up a 7870 eyefinity 6 (6 mDP ports) since we were driving 4 27" Apple displays. Works great, works on standard power and doesn't require using 2 slots for GPUs
