I'm 4th in line in a major us city outside apple flagship location and they have zero iPhone plus for walk in and advised us to not wait.

AT&T on the other hand has iPhone 7 plus... all colors but JB and matte.

I have personally Confirmed this as well local At&t store and Sprint Store they are side by side do have 7 Plus Models for Walk Ins. Apple Store has Zero.

I got through to the manager of AT&T's flagship location, they have iPhone 7 plus in every color except any of the blacks.

Apple store Soho NYC said the same, my window is for 1 pm and they don't even let me come any earlier lol

Where are all the pluses? Are they all going to in-store reservations? That's very odd for Apple not to have stock to get them through launch day.

I disagree, this is something new... The people in line have waited for 5-6 years in a row... The first 20 people always get the device they want... Apple royally F'ed this up... especially after the failed iPhone upgrade program where they had to give all the walk-in inventory to the IUP's

Despite all of that, there will plenty of smiles tomorrow from people picking up their pre-orders, people gifting iPhones to someone else, and so on.

Like I said, there will be smiles and there will be frowns tomorrow.

Same as in previous years.

Thanks for being late to the party

i left a loyal crew who was waiting it out... they just received $100 gift cards and told if they want the plus to leave and try another time.

I've already sold my extra on ebay. Have to love Apple's shortages. There's always something each year.

This is why I either stay awake or wake my arse up on preorder launches.

Yep. Though I have done this every year and still haven't consistently gotten my desired model on launch day due to website issues and what-not. This year I got right through to the order screen only to discover that AT&T hadn't applied my last Next payment and so I couldn't order it through Next. I just canceled and went back to sleep; after getting it straightened out with AT&T I'm in the mid-October delivery window.

No skin of my nose though frankly. I'm curious to see if the delivery windows shoot up a bit after people discover there are no iPhone 7+ models for walk-in at Apple and no black models anywhere else tomorrow.

There's going to be a lot of upset people tomorrow.

Yeah well I guess they can't make everybody happy no matter what they do. The majority of people will be very happy, we just won't see them because they'll be busy enjoying their new phones instead of coming to forums to complain. For every one person who is pissed because they can't get exactly what they want exactly when they want it there will be five or six others who are happy with what they got or patient enough to wait a little longer for it.

I know but Apple folks are usually very impatient and extra entitled.

It has to be difficult to plan the logistics around these launches, so many factors to consider... ideally you want the right number manufactured but not too much...

This year they may have been hedging the 7+ a little given the Samsung Note's debut, maybe they thought that was going to eat into demand a bit... hard to know for sure.

Running out is part of the game part of the hype part of what makes getting one satisfying, but maybe this year they guessed a bit low... or maybe they have a huge shipment flying in just a few days from now, who knows.
